Defending champions Buriram United matched the Saturday night exploits of co-leaders Port and Sukhothai with an impressive 2-0 Thai League 1 victory at promoted Chainat on Sunday. The results prolonged the status quo as Port, Sukhothai and Buriram all held on to the top spot with nine points each. Romulo Cabral cancelled out the first a minute into the second half and Mika Chunounsee made the second meaningless at the hour mark. Chiang Rai United, who were also expected to challenge Buriram and SCG Muang Thong United, didn't fare any better either. The hosts, who took the lead with a 16th-minute goal by Nebihi Bajram, have plummeted to 10th place in the standings.
